Barko Introduces
Model 930 Mulcher

|
Barko has engineered
this next-generation machine
with an efficient
305hp Cummins QSC 8.3L
diesel engine (or optional
300 hp Deere 9.0L). It blends load-sensing hydraulic performance
with the engine's high-torque/low RPM characteristics,
to lower fuel costs, minimize component wear, and
reduce engine noise levels by up to 50 percent.
The 930 Mulcher's purpose-built carrier features heavy
plate front and rear framing, a robust center-joint section, and
pins with double-tapered roller bearings. The carrier is sure
footed, with a low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution. The 108-inch wheelbase provides a smooth ride, and
the heavy-duty hydrostatic drive and full 90-degree articulation
allow for excellent maneuverability.

Bandit's 3400 Gets Boost

|
Bandit's popular Model 3400
self-propelled, rubber-tracked,
hydrostatic stump grinder is now
available with 200 hp.
The 3400 still features a powerful,
305 Cat, rubber-tracked undercarriage
that gives it the
mobility needed to quickly reach difficult-to-reach stumps,
even in soft and uneven ground conditions. And its unique
cutter wheel drive, with a hydraulic planetary motor, is built
in to the cutter wheel. This combination eliminates the need
for belts, jackshafts, or transfer case drives. A radio remote
controls all functions and increases operator comfort, while
providing maximum visibility.

Deere's 909J and 959J Track Feller Bunchers

|
Loggers can experience a new level of performance with
the introduction of John Deere's 909J and 959J track feller
bunchers. With their four-way leveling system and increased
operator control, these machines offer the combination of
power and productivity.
Leveling is possible up to 26 degrees forward, 7 degrees
rearward, and 14 degrees from side-to-side. Both models feature
a Total Machine Control™ system that enables an operator
to set the speed and acceleration of the tilt to match his
application, terrain, and capabilities, while providing constant
position feedback.
The machines provide outstanding
saw blade power with
quick recovery time and 294
SAE gross horsepower (219
kW). The hydraulically driven cooling fan optimizes horsepower
and increases fuel efficiency, by running only when
it's needed.

Tigercat's 822/L830
new to C-series

|
Tigercat has released the
822C/L830C series feller bunchers
and harvesters designed with a
number of enhancements.
The Tier III QSL9 produces 300
hp at 1,800 rpm, and the new, common
rail fuel system improves engine reliability. The exhaust
manifold hardware is rated for higher temperatures to prevent
breakage and exhaust leaks.
Tigercat has improved the hydraulic driven cooling fan by
adding thermostat control. Now the fan operates at automatic
variable speed with an automatic purge cycle. The new
24-volt electrical system improves cranking ability in cold
weather and provides better compatibility between the carrier
and harvesting head attachments. Defrosting and defogging
capabilities have been improved and the master
disconnect is remote-mounted in the cab. The front door
height has also been extended for better upward visibility.
