Potlatch Meets Forest Practices Requirements
On September 12, Potlatch announced that the company’s
forest practices on 670,000 acres in Idaho and 320,000
acres in Minnesota have met the requirements of both the
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFISM) and the International
Organization on Standardization (ISO) 14001 standard for
Environmental Management Systems.
Quality Management Institute (QMI) of Vancouver, British
Columbia, an accredited auditor for SFI and a registrar for
the ISO standard, this summer completed audits of Potlatch
forest practices in the two regions and verified the company’s
compliance with requirements of both organizations.


Sanders Retires
Wayne R. Sanders will retire as chairman of the
Kimberly-Clark Corporation in February 2003. Sanders has
served as chief executive officer and chairman since
December 19, 1991, and March 31, 1992, respectively.
Thomas J. Falk has been elected CEO, and will continue
to serve as president and as a member of the company's
board of directors, as he has since 1999. He is expected to be
elected chairman in February 2003.


Western States Has New VP
Western States Equipment, the Caterpillar dealer for
Eastern Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Western Montana and
Wyoming recently named Eddie Davis as its new VP of sales.
Davis joined Western States in 1996. He previously
served as Spokane Cat Rental Store Manager and, most
recently, as Used Equipment Manager.
