Timberking Rubber-Tired Harvester
New on the market is the Timberking TK856, a rubbertired, 6-wheel drive
harvester. The TK856 is designed to give the logger more mobility to get to the
next worksite as quickly as possible with a minimum of expense. With its
rubber-tired chassis, the TK856 allows for easier movement in the woods with
minimal disturbance to the forest floor. The articulating frame has a tight
turning radius, and soil scuffing is not noticeable as compared to turning a
track machine in the woods. The TK856 comes to market with a track record not
typical in a new machine build, because it incorporates proven components from
Timberking forwarders, rubber-tired feller bunchers and track harvesters. It
features the hydrostatic propulsion system incorporated into countless
rubber-tired feller bunchers, the ability to travel between 0 and 12 mph and the
CAT 3126 DITA engine and high-efficiency cooling package. The torque curve
allows this 200 hp (149 kW) unit to operate at an optimum rpm, while providing
good fuel economy. For more, visit www.cat.com.
Komatsu PC200LL-7 &
PC220LL-7
Komatsu America Corp. has introduced the PC200LL-7 and PC220LL-7,
purpose-built
forestry machines featuring a new high/wide track frame, "woods-tough" guarding,
cab/riser packages and swing and track components from the
next-larger-size-class excavator. Both models are built standard with many of
the protection and performance features formerly handled at aftermarket. The
PC200LL-7 has an operating weight of 62,488 lb. with 143 hp and a swing torque
of 54,970 ft/lb., while the PC220LL-7 weighs 77,788 lbs., operates at 168 hp and
has a swing torque of 75,902 ft/lb. Both machines are ideal for efficient log
loading (both heel-type and butt-n-top methods), shovel logging, road building,
delimber and processing applications. For more, visit

WSM Model 5472
In November, West Salem Machinery (WSM) introduced the latest in grinding
technology for processing high volumes of wood, bark, and log yard debris. The
WSM Model 5472 vertical feed grinder features a massive 54" diameter by 72"
wide, fully machined rotor for processing large volumes of mixed wood and bark
into a sized product. This grinder is suitable for use with drives from 400-1000
hp. Key design and construction features improve operation and reduce
maintenance costs in tough mill applications. Features include heavy duty infeed
chute with optional ballistics protection, full interior wear liners (1" to 3"
thick), 12" diameter shaft, heavy duty spherical roller bearings mounted in cast
steel pillow block housings for improved shock loading, hydraulic pivoting
grinder housing for fast and easy maintenance access, modular screen grates for
ease of handling and superior product sizing, and heavy duty hammers (swing or
rigid) with reversible/replaceable hammer tips. Go to

Amphibious Tree Trimmer
Jarraff Industries recently introduced a new Amphibious Jarraff All-Terrain Tree
Trimmer.
The Amphibious Jarraff is able to operate in water as well as swamps and marshy
terrain. The unit’s design incorporates amphibious tracks that allow operation
in challenging environments. The tracks are equipped with pontoon floats and the
floats are compartmentalized for added safety. The machine’s 24-inch carbide tip
blade operates at 3,200 rpm, providing top-of-the-line cutting power. The
non-conductive bloom extends up to 75 feet and comes equipped with limb
deflectors for great operator protection. And the Jarraff’s high tensile
fiberglass construction provides shock resistance, strength and safety. Visit

CBI Track Grinder
Continental Biomass Industries (CBI) has introduced the newest in its line of
Magnum
Force™ grinders, the 6800T. It’s the first track grinder that can grind wood as
fast as a 30" chipper can chip, and hammer tips that can last up to 20 times
longer than a comparable chipper. The 6800T is built specifically for land
clearing companies and yard waste processors demanding high-volume throughput on
a maneuverable platform. Its physical dimensions – 39’10"L (in travel position)
x 10’6"W x 11’9"H, and weight of 75,000 pounds – makes the 6800T one of the most
easily transportable units in its class. It’s available with either Cat® C16, or
3412E Diesel engines to provide up to 1050 hp. The new unit is equipped with
CBI’s new IntelliGrind™ operating system, featuring automatic variable feed
speed and upper feed roll adjustments tied to engine load, and a modem
communications system that provides for real-time system diagnostics. Visit
www.cbi-inc.com for more information.
