New Tigercat Forwarder
Line Up
Tigercat has modified the current forwarder line and plans to expand its product
offering. The new line up will consist of models 1055, 1065 and 1075 ranging in
capacity from 14 to 20 tons. The Tigercat 1014 model has been relabeled the
1065. It’s the mid-range model of the three—an 18-ton capacity machine capable
of operating in challenging terrain. Using various bunk and crane
configurations, the 1065 can handle single 16-foot logs or customized to double
bunk 3-meter log lengths. The 1018 series forwarder will be replaced by the
Tigercat 1075. The 1065 and 1075 are both powered by the Mercedes 906 engine
rated at 228 and 241 hp respectively. Differences between the two models include
larger bunk options, 20-ton rated bogies and a stronger driveline for the 1075.
The 20- ton forwarder is designed for tough, high-production transporting
applications. The 1055 forwarder is scheduled to launch in mid-2005. The 14-ton
capacity machine will be equipped with 14- ton bogies and smaller, narrower bunk
options for selective thinning and some clear fell applications. Visit

BABAC
New from BABAC are the 5/8" and 3/4" Forestry Protection studded tire chains.
These tire
protection
pattern chains feature the added traction benefit of the innovative U-Form®
studs. Each stud is welded on the flat/square side of the link to stay upright,
offering constant ground contact. The tighter Diamond™ net design provides
superior tire protection and traction with six studs per diamond. Each pair of
BABAC tire chains is hand assembled for optimum quality control and uses 10B21
Through Hardened™ Boron alloy steel for uniform hardness and strength
throughout. Visit www.wallingfords.com

Peterson's 6700B Horizontal
Recycler
The Peterson model 6700B Horizontal Recycler was unveiled to recycling
professionals at CONEXPO/CONAGG in Las Vegas this Spring. The 6700B is the
newest model in the
company's
established line of heavy-duty grinders that uniquely converts raw materials
into higher value end products. Powered by a 1000 ph Caterpillar 3412E diesel
engine, the 6700B is designed for size reduction of large quantities of mixed
landfill, construction and wood materials. For example, the feed opening of 50 x
66 inches allows the 6700B to process massive stumps that used to be reserved
for tub grinders. It features an adaptive control system that monitors the
grinding load and varies the speed of the feed system to keep the engine working
at the top of its power curve. It even monitors the engine temperature and
varies the speed of the cooling fans to optimize cooling while minimizing power
usage and reducing fuel consumption. The Peterson quick-change multiple grate
system (patent pending) makes it easy to customize grate configurations to
produce a wide variety of finished materials. For more information log on to

Hydraulic Pressure Gauge for
Bull Hog®
The new PSI Gauge from FECON offers higher
performance
and efficiency for operators of Bull Hog® Skid Steer Models. The optional
Hydraulic Pressure Gauge offers an indication of rotor speed to operators so
they can maintain peak mulching performance. Heat generation in the hydraulic
systems is also minimized. The gauge helps operators know when to pull out of
the work so the rotor can recover. For experienced operators, the Hydraulic
Pressure Gauge can help them maximize productivity. Optimum rotor speed and
torque can be measured for the type of materials they are processing. For more
information visit www.fecon.com.
Valmet 765 Skidder
The new Valmet 765 single- or dualarch skidder is powered by the fuel efficient,
Tier-II Cummins QSB 5.9L engine, delivering 205 hp at 2200 rpm. The engine
provides excellent fuel economy by maximizing torque at low rpm and offers an
extended torque curve to ensure the power and performance needed to pull heavy
loads. The 151" long wheelbase and 128" wide stance with outboard planetaries
distribute the machine’s weight evenly and give the 765 a low center of gravity
and the ability to stick to slopes. Six speeds forward, three reverse make
driving effortless with top a speed of 18 mph. Front and rear on-the-go
differential locks engage independently and internal disc brakes in oil (two
brake sets/axle) assure strong stopping power. Valmet’s exclusive
single-cylinder action with internal timing bar and continuous 360-degree
rotation grapple makes gathering stems smooth and easy with a standard 123"
opening or the optional 127" opening grapple. An optional 50 gal fuel tank or
winch is also available. For more, go to
