Modern Machinery Company
Acquires PNE
Modern Machinery Company, Inc., a heavy equipment dealer headquartered in
Missoula, Mont., has acquired the assets and operations of Pacific North
Equipment (PNE). This adds to its service area stores currently in Missoula and
Billings, Mont., Boise and Pocatello, Idaho, and Spokane, Wash., with the
addition of Kent and Chehalis Wash., Portland and Eugene, Ore., and Magadan,
Russia. The acquisition makes Modern Machinery one of the largest Komatsu
dealers in the U.S. Modern Machinery has also been appointed the authorized
distributor of Valmet and Timbco forest machines for the coastal regions of
Washington and Oregon.
Sierra Added to Team
Partek Forest is pleased to announce the appointment of Sierra Machinery
Services of Pleasant Grove, Calif., as the Timbco and Valmet dealer for Northern
California. "Sierra Machinery brings us closer to the customer in California and
is therefore a perfect fit in our distribution strategy" said Leif Magnusson,
President.
New Positions at LBX
There are a few new faces at LBX, the makers of Link-Belt equipment. Larry
McAddo has been named product specialist for hydraulic excavators. Before coming
to LBX he was sales manager with Performance Machinery in Bozeman, Mont. Scott
Sutherland is the new manager of product planning and development of excavators
at LBX.
RENS Sold to
Lacey-Harmer
RENS Manufacturing Company, Inc. has sold certain assets, including its name "Rens
metal detectors" to Lacey-Harmer Company of Portland, Ore. The former RENS
Manufacturing Co. has changed its name to HPN, and continues to do business that
is not related to the manufacture of metal detectors for sawmill and other
industrial applications.
Rayonier Names New Northwest
Operations Director
Rayonier has promoted Eric S. Fanelli from manager, forest resources and
operations in New Zealand to Director of Northwest operations. He will be
responsible for Rayonier’s 380,000 acres of timberland in Washington. Fanelli
has a BS in Forest Resources Management and an MS in Forest Biometrics. He also
graduated from the Harvard Program for Management Development in 2001.
