8th Biennial Residue-to-Revenue
Residual Wood Conference

The first Residual Wood Residue-To-Revenue Conference, which was sponsored by Logging and Sawmilling Journal, was held in 1995 and broke new ground for the forest industry—it was the first conference of its kind ever held in Canada. The main theme of turning wood residue into revenue has remained consistent for the conference—which is held every two years—reflecting the ongoing importance of dealing with residual wood. The topics and speakers have changed, however, reflecting the fast evolving nature and technologies of the business. The conference continues to be a central source of information for the highest and best use of what is becoming a valuable commodity.

With the rising cost of energy, the forest industry is increasingly looking at energy related residual wood solutions. As energy prices rise, the range of economically practical residual wood solutions continues to grow. The 7th Biennial Residual Wood Conference, presented by Logging and Sawmilling Journal, had a special focus on how to generate energy, and save money, through the use of residual wood.

Our 2009 Conference will be taking place at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel, from Oct 28-30.
