Bracke Group implements
changes
A lot has transpired at Robur Maskin, ForeCare and TTS Forest. The three
companies involved in forest regeneration are now assembled under the
parent company, Bracke Group. First, Robur Maskin is now called Bracke
Forest. And since the development and sales of the company’s
GIS/GPS-based system was so successful, they have divided ForeCare into
two companies. The GIS/GPS part is now called Bracke Systems. The
forestry consulting and training portion is called Bracke ForeCare.
Lastly, TTS Forest, which is a Finnish sales company, will now be called
Bracke TTS Oy. The changes were to create a strong, closely-knit and
aggressive group of companies with a mutual goal.

New Razorback wood hog from Rader
The Razorback wood hog from Rader offers a unique horizontal
feed-through fibre processing solution. The turbine-type wood hog
processes high production levels of wood waste with a controlled
discharge particle size, while using 40 to 50 per cent less energy.
Material entering the machine is quickly cut between the angled hammers
and attrition plates as it moves along the length of the rotor. The
360-degree helical cutting surface provides a hammermill hog that will
match the output of a conventional hog for 50 per cent of the
horsepower, the company says. The adjustable particle sizing allows for
boiler optimization. www.rader.com

Baldor offers severe duty
motors
Baldor offers a wide range of severe duty motors directly from stock,
including premium or standard efficiencies in ratings up to 500
horsepower. Non-stock (to 2,000 hp) motors are delivered in ten working
days. For most extreme applications
where
downtime is critical, Baldor IEEE 841 motors are said to be ideal. These
are NEMA Premium efficient motors that exceed IEEE 841-2001
specifications. Standard efficient severe duty motors include chemical
processing motors and “Dirty Duty” motors. The motors feature cast iron
construction for extra durability. They are built with Class F
insulation, Class B temperature rise, and a 1.15 service factor. For
severe environmental operating conditions, Baldor chemical processing
motors provide extra protection with corrosion resistant epoxy finish,
regreasable ball bearings, oversized rotatable cast iron conduit boxes,
stainless steel nameplate and corrosion resistant hardware.

Blount contributes to Log-A-Load for
Kids at Demo 2004
Dennis Eagan, president of logging equipment manufacturer Blount Inc,
presented Log-A-Load For Kids Canada with a cheque for $2,000 during the
recent Demo International 2004 equipment show in Quebec. Gerard

organization. “The figures are still preliminary, but we managed to
raise over $16,000 for children’s hospital foundations during Demo,”
Robichaud said. “We are proud to be a part of the forestry industry and
the family of loggers who have banded together through Log-A-Load to
raise money to help critically ill and injured children,” Eagan said.
Blount, which produces Fabtek and Prentice harvesting equipment, has
been a contributor to the organization since its inception in the United
States in 1988 and has donated a total of $5,290 so far this year.

New grinder from Continental Biomass
Continental Biomass Industries (CBI) has introduced the newest in its
line of Magnum Force grinders, the 6800T. It’s the first track grinder
that can grind wood
as
fast as a 30” chipper can chip, with hammer tips that can last up to 20
times longer than a comparable chipper, according to the company. Its
physical dimensions—39’10” L (in travel position) x 10’6” W x 11’9” H,
and weight of 75,000 lbs—make the 6800T easily transportable. And it’s
available with either Cat C16, or 3412E diesel engines to provide up to
1,050 hp. The new unit is equipped with CBI’s new IntelliGrind operating
system, featuring automatic variable feed speed and upper feed roll
adjustments tied to engine load, and a modem communications system that
provides for real-time system diagnostics.
