Morbark,
Inc Introduces Horizontal Grinder
Manufactured with contractors in mind, the Morbark 6600 Wood Hog combines
ease
of portability with a high production rate. This combination is made

Hyster
Engineers S70-120XM Series Lift Trucks for Tough Jobs
Hyster Company has designed the S70-120XM lift truck series to handle
loads
ranging
from 7,000 to 12,000 lbs, and the units feature a large radiator with
unique core design to provide excellent cooling efficiency in dusty or
fibrous applications, according to the company. Already known for such
features as operator ergonomics and comfort while maintaining overall
performance, this series offers a new operator compartment with upgrades
to the styling, hydraulics and brakes. Hyster’s exclusive VISTA masts
further enhance the visibility and productivity, while the EZXchange swing
out/drop down LPG tank bracket facilitates easier removal of fuel tanks
from the truck. The Hyster hydraulic system has considerable auxiliary
flow/pressure rates which match the paper-roll clamp manufacturer needs
without any additional hydraulic components. Reader Service Card# 9045
Work Boot With New Composite Toe
The new Dakota work boot now available from Mark’s Work Wearhouse is CSA
international certified to provide the highest level of protection with a
penetration-resistant
sole plate that is 100 per cent non-metallic and metal free. This
protection is provided by a proprietary composite material, a blend of
resins and fibres that protects both the toe box and the sole and yet is
33 per cent lighter than the steel toe. The wearing experience results in
a much lighter, warmer, and more comfortable work boot while maintaining
the crucial safety features. In addition, this new boot also features a
removable foot-bed with a contoured insole that provides cushioning and
support. The compressive EVA moulded mid-sole is ultra lightweight and
offers superior cushioning for extra comfort. It is made from Dri-tec, a
breathable lining that wicks moisture away to help maintain warmer and
drier feet. The boot exterior is constructed of a full-grain leather upper
which is waterproof, breathable and has a high-traction rubber sole
designed to resist electric shock. Reader Service Card# 9046
Weighing Terminal Instantly Connects
Terminals
The Mettler Toledo Unattended Weighing Terminal (UWT) is the newest
vehicle scale control solution with fast, simple connections from isolated
terminals to PCs
for
remote data retrieval. The full-featured, entry-level solution is
outfitted with the VSX inbound/outbound vehicle transaction software
operating on the JAGXTREME Scale Terminal platform and allows the UWT to
network with multiple unattended terminals. This system works well with
lower transactional volume (less than 100 trucks per day) and features
basic vehicle and commodity informational tracking requirements. It is
said to be ideal for warehousing, manufacturing, utilities and any
industrial application where commodity, vehicle and weight are the prime
focus without the need for pricing or billing activities. A complete line
of accessories is available, including proximal R/F vehicle ID tag reader,
integrated kiosk style ticket printer, intercom, and thermo statically
controlled heater. This platform is flexible and scalable to meet changing
needs. The VSX in/out vehicle weighing software stores vehicle tare
weights, commodity types, inbound weights, badge ID numbers and interfaces
with loops and traffic lights. A transaction summary is provided with
inbound, commodity and scale accumulator reports. Self-diagnostics are
also easy with simple troubleshooting to save installation and start-up
time. Reader Service Card# 9047
KONE
sells Partek Forest to Komatsu
KONE Corporation announced in early November that it has signed an
agreement for the sale of its forest machines operations, Partek Forest,
to Komatsu Ltd. The value of the transaction is 120 million Euros, and it
is subject to relevant competition authority approval. Komatsu is one of
the world’s leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment,
with net sales in 2002 of US$9.2 billion. Partek Forest markets its
products through Komatsu’s dealerships in certain markets. By acquiring
Partek Forest, Komatsu is expected to broaden its range of forestry
equipment. Partek Forest is a pioneer in mechanized timber harvesting and
one of the world’s leading manufacturers of purpose-built forest machines
and cranes. Its products are sold under the Valmet and Timbco brands.
Partek Forest’s sales for the twelve months ended 30 September 2003 were
approximately 240 million Euros, disregarding the forest cranes business,
which has been transferred to KONE’s load handling business area and is
not included in the transaction. This past June, KONE announced its
intention to concentrate on the elevator, escalator and automatic door
service business, and on container and load handling, while seeking new
owners for the tractor and forest machine businesses. Reader Service Card#
