Tigercat Expands BC Presence
Burnaby, BC-based Parker Pacific/Inland Kenworth Ltd is now an authorized Tigercat distributor in BC. The new Parker Pacific territory includes the regions of Cranbrook, Terrace, Houston, Langley, Campbell River, Quesnel, Port McNeill, Nanaimo, Penticton, Kamloops, Prince George, Williams Lake and Fort St John. Marcel's Equipment will continue to represent Tigercat in Vernon, BC.

Coneco Adds Morgan Skidders to Lineup
International Silvatech Industries Inc of Langley, BC, manufacturers of Morgan Forestry Products, in conjunction with Coneco Equipment, a division of KCL West Holdings Inc of Edmonton, has reached an agreement whereby Coneco acquires the distribution rights for Morgan skidders in Alberta, the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The initial supply will be shipped to Coneco's Edmonton and Grande Prairie branches. Coneco is a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Canada.

TecTronix Wedge Traps Metal Before the Detector
The wedge metal trap from TecTronix Systems Inc separates, traps and holds ferrous tramp metal away from the product stream before it reaches the metal detector, increasing the life of processing equipment and enhancing metal detector performance by allowing higher sensitivity levels. Morbark's 1000 Tub Grinder on Tracks
The Morbark Model 1000 tub grinderis now on tracks, expanding the grinding possibilities and lessening the need for support equipment. The 10-foot class, heavy-duty hammermill can move to the material piles and grind on the spot. Designed for high production grinding of brush, pallets, demolition material, land clearing debris, yard waste and hard-to-get-to wood waste, the Model 1000 can accommodate both fixed or swing hammers and features a 26"x46" opening. A pressure-compensated hydraulic system, two 12"-diameter augers, a 28" wide by 12' long belt conveyor, a tub cover for debris containment, electronic rpm sensor for tub drive, a safety shut down system and a full hydraulic tilt tub are among its other features. A magnetized end pulley and auxiliary air compressor are optional.

Wagner Sensor Sorts Bug-Kill Lumber
Prompted by the mountain pine beetle infestation in BC and the western US, Wagner Electronics has improved its random width sensor design. The new Model 218 moisture meter sensor helps sort bug kill or otherwise dry lumber from green lumber prior to kiln drying, thus avoiding the degrade and over-dry conditions that result when bug kill lumber is kiln dried. The narrow field sensor is used for sideways/random width lumber applications and can provide significant cost benefits and grade recovery improvements, the company says.

Tailor-made Hybrid Cables from elocab
North American cablemaker elocab offers a wide range of tailor-made hybrid cables for a variety of industries. Among the options in the more than 10,000 different custom cable configurations available are cables that combine power and data transmission in robotics; integration of copper conductors and fibre optic components with high-pressure hose for air or water; and combined video and tether cable strong enough to pull a heavy camera-mounted inspection crawler, the company says. Engineers at elocab have access to different conductor materials, shielding techniques, jacketing components and cable designs for robotic processes, high-speed assembly lines, machine tooling systems, automation equipment and material handling systems.

CSI Offers Two New Delimbers
Two rugged new delimbers from Cutting Systems Inc include the PTD-243 and the PTD-143. The 74,000-lb PTD-243 is a four-knife pull-through delimber with topping saw, designed for use in hardwood or pine for maximum production. A wide throat opening coupled with the roller and knife design makes pulling easy and smooth, the company says. The PTD-143 is a cradle-type pull-through delimber with topping saw that offers production and ease of operation.

Petro-Can's Hydrex Fluids Offer Wear Protection
Petro-Canada's new generation of heavy-duty hydraulic fluids with Total Wear Protection offers fluid life of up to three times longer than conventional oils and superior anti-wear protection, the company says. Formulated using Petro-Canada's patented HT purity process, the base fluids are 99.9 per cent pure and inherently biodegradable. The two new product lines based on the formulation include HYDREX, for use in logging, sawmills, pulp and paper and engineered wood product operations, and ENVIRON, formulated for use where there are additional environmental, health and safety concerns. Features include outstanding oxidation and thermal stability; rust, corrosion and water damage protection; reduced seasonal change-outs and inventory; and superior cold starting ability.
