New grinder from Williams
& White
Williams & White Machine Inc has introduced a new circular saw CNC top
and face 
grinder.
The fully enclosed Accu-Sharp TFX-C is a two-axis CNC top and face
grinder that grinds any tooth shape and pattern in a single pass. The
intuitive on-screen computer interface allows a sawfiler to program up
to 99 saw geometries and tooth profiles quickly and accurately. When a
saw is pulled out of memory, set-up time is reduced to a simple wheel
touch off. With automatic saw loading, the Williams & White grinder can
handle saws 8” to 42”.

Link-Belt award winners
announced
LBX Company, LLC, maker of the Link-Belt line of heavy equipment, has
announced the recipients of the 2005 Parts Distributor of Excellence
Awards. The awards are LBX’s highest honour, recognizing sales and
program participation within the parts departments of distributors.
Canadian winners included first-time winner Equipment Comeau of
Deauville, Quebec, where Sylvain Auger is the parts manager. A
second-time winner was Parker Pacific in Langley, BC, and its parts

Tree tracking system selected by
German company
ObjectStore and Progress Software Corporation have announced that DABAC,
a German software development company, has selected ObjectStore RFID
Accelerator for its Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) pilot program.
German forestry company Cambium-Forstbetriebe will use the technology to
track trees from Germany’s independent forests through the supply chain
and to sawmills, improving inventory management and streamlining the
financial reconciliation process. Cambium-Forstbetriebe can tag
individual trees and store the RFID data collected from logs as they are
transported to its sawmills. When deployed, a unique nail-shaped RFID
tag will be inserted into each tree to be tracked as it moves through
the supply chain, from the skidder that removes the tree from the forest
right through to the sawmill. Using a handheld device, the information
will be uploaded through GSM (Global System for Mobile communication)
technology to a central location where ObjectStore RFID Accelerator
takes over, aggregating, normalizing and propagating the data.
“Cambium-Forstbetriebe anticipates that ObjectStore RFID Accelerator
will reduce the current inventory shrinkage by up to 70 per cent and
reduce the payment reconciliation process by more than 50 percent,” said
Gerhard Friemel, owner of Cambium-Forstbetriebe.

New mulcher from Tigercat
The new M726D mulcher from Tigercat complements the larger M760
available from the company. Both machines are designed to propel
horizontal drum mulching
attachments.
The M726D’s Cummins QSC8.3 Tier II engine develops 245 hp at 1,800 rpm.
The machine will mulch standing trees, brush and blowdown and is well
suited to commercial land clearing and right-of-way applications. The
M726D is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than the M760. The tight
turn radius allows the operator to carefully work around standing trees
and other obstacles. And like the D-series feller bunchers, the M726D is
available with either the two-speed transmission or wide-range
infinitely variable transmission.

Tightening tool for ECO-Wheel
Tracks
