Custom Lowbeds a Specialty of Aspen
Trailers
With a 50- to 60-ton capacity, the BC7 tridem lowbeds from Aspen Custom
Trailers Inc are typical of the company's 500 or so trailers working in
the forests of British Columbia. The lowbeds are well designed, tough and
at work in the harshest conditions, the company says. Fabricated out of

Morbark Offers Two New Tracked
Grinders
Morbark has expanded its horizontal grinder line-up with the 3600 and 5600
track wood hogs. The tracked models are designed to move and grind
simultaneously, allowing for more production per hour. Rather than moving
piles of material to the grinder, the grinder can move to the debris and
process it on the spot. With horsepower options ranging from 430 to 500 hp
for the 3600 and from 750 to 860 hp for the 5600, the machines handle very
demanding grinding applications, making quick work of green waste,
pallets, stumps and other hard-to-get-to wood waste, the company says. The
Model 3600 features a 25 1/2" diameter by 49" long hammermill
rotor equipped with double-edged replaceable cutting inserts. The Model
5600 offers a 36" by 56" hammermill, a 330EL Cat undercarriage
and wireless radio remote control. Reader Service Card # 466
Bunting Metal Detector Aids Lumber
Mills
Metron metal detectors from Bunting Magnetics Co can detect and help
eliminate metal debris from logs, rough-milled lumber, MDF, plywood and
other wood products. The tunnel-shaped Metron C detectors are designed to
inspect conveyed materials for metal objects and particles that can damage
equipment and compromise product quality. Featuring adjustable
sensitivity, the detectors respond to all common metals, including
stainless steel, and can be combined with optional alarm/reject systems.
They use an accurate triple-coil electromagnetic detection system,
incorporating product effect compensation and an EMFI filter. Bunting
supplies a line of both electronic metal detector/separators and magnetic
metal separation equipment designed to work individually or in tandem to
signal and remove ferrous and non-ferrous metal contaminants from a wide
range of products and materials. Reader Service Card # 467
