Bandit introduces new chipper

Bandit Industries has come out with a new model, the 1990 chipper.

The 1990 is a beefy hand-fed chipper, which effectively processes large-diameter forked trees. This unit was fashioned after the model 1890, but features a wider drum and a larger chipper opening measuring 26.5” high by 24.5” wide. It’s equipped with a powerful feed system and is available with engine options up to 140 hp. The heavy-duty version has engine options up to 250 hp and is equipped with an even stronger feed system, similar to that on Bandit’s wholetree chippers. Options include a hydraulic winch that helps process materials too large to manipulate by hand and decreases chainsaw work.

New delimber from Blount

Blount’s new CTR 320 delimber features a wide V-shaped throat opening that funnels logs into place for fast and easy loading and delimbing. It incorporates innovations such as an automatic chain tensioner to increase productivity and reduce maintenance.

With three knives and a 20” throat opening, the CTR 320 can accommodate multiple stem softwood, large pine and medium hardwood. The knives move independently, so they can conform to the shape of a tree or bundle of logs. It can delimb trees as small as 3.5” in diameter.

The machine has the same design as the 426, but is more compact. The clean, ribbed structure is designed to stand up to daily delimbing and there are no weld joints in high load areas. A rigid, skeletal design disperses the stress during operation.

Heavy duty spot heater from SunStar

A new heavy-duty infrared spot heater from SunStar Heating Products— that doesn’t use electricity—has been introduced for hard-to-heat areas, unheated work areas, areas requiring supplemental heat or for emergency heat situations, thawing applications and freeze protection.

The compact, cylinder-shaped SunStar RCH Series spot heaters provide on-the-job versatility. Each of the four models can comfortably heat an enclosed area of up to 2,500 sq ft without using fans or moving parts common with other spot heaters. They have a compact 14” diameter base and a stainless steel emitter.

And an expanded mesh steel guard protects users from the emitter for safety. Available in propane gas or natural gas, the spot heaters are rated at 95,000 BTU/hr for propane gas models or at a 100,000 BTU/hr rating for natural gas models. The heaters also come in manual or thermostatically controlled models.

New belt cutters from Flexco

Flexible Steel Lacing Company (Flexco) has announced improvements to two belt cutters. Both the 840 series belt cutter and the Clipper 845LD belt cutter share improved safety design features.The blades remain fully enclosed during cutting procedures. They also feature a flat top design, providing protection from the tip when the upper beam is opened.

Following use, the blades can be positioned in a protected area on either end of the cutter.

The cutters are sized for a range of belt thicknesses and widths. The 840 series belt cutters are designed for belts ranging from 3/8” to 1” thick and belt widths of 36” to 84”. The Clipper 845LD belt cutters are designed for belts up to 1/2” thick and belt widths from 36” to 72”.

Truck scale for harsh loads

An above-ground truck scale that features a rugged steel deck for weighing harsh loads is now available from Alliance Scale, Inc.

The scale features the modular Survivor EZ Steel Deck from Rice Lake which is 3/16” steel plate supported by 12” H beams for optimum rigidity and has a 2-65 deflection factor. Offered in 10’ to 117’ lengths by 10’ to 14’ widths, with various types of foundations, the scales have a 90,000 lbs concentrated load rating.

Incorporating from four to 12-load cells, depending upon size, the Alliance truck scale can include a wide selection of digital weight indicators and displays to meet specific customer requirements.
