SEC introduces POSILOCK fence
SEC has introduced the POSILOCK Positioning Fence, which provides two
feet of infinite board positioning at a high lug rate. The board and
shifting paddle are in
contact over the entire roll length and an
air-operated guide pulls each paddle into position. When the desired
ending is achieved the guide releases, locking the paddle in the set
position. There is no bounce back, no board coasting or damage to the
ends of the boards. The POSILOCK Positioning Fence can be fully
integrated into most existing trimmer lines. High lug rate capability
eliminates the need for additional saws throughout the trimmer at
one-foot increments. Once installed, virtually no maintenance is
required and each paddle can be removed and replaced in seconds. Both
the random width (up to150 LPM) and stud (up to 200 LPM) machines are
offered with an 8’ long ending roll. A shorter version is available
utilizing a 4’-0” long ending roll.

Sellick’s new S Series rough terrain
forklift
Sellick Equipment has introduced its S series rough terrain forklift.
The new design
focuses on safety, visibility, ergonomics, and
accessibility. The operator platform is rubber mounted to reduce noise
and vibration levels, improving productivity and reducing fatigue.
Visibility through the SEE-THRU roller mast has also been improved to
increase safety. It has a capacity range of 6,000 to 12,000 lbs, and all
models are equipped with the new Perkins 1100 Tier II emission diesel
engine. Optional equipment includes four-wheel drive, enclosed cab, air
conditioning, fork positioning and a wide selection of lift heights.

Remsoft launches Allocation
Optimizer software
Remsoft has launched the Allocation Optimizer, the first commercial
software product that enables users to include destination, mill
demands, transportation costs and the cost and value of products in
strategic management plans. Allocation Optimizer means decisions about
where, when and what to harvest (or to deliver silviculture or some
other treatments) are linked directly to market and mill needs, helping
organizations to increase efficiency and improve profitability. The
result is truly optimal planning, and the benefit is potentially
millions of dollars saved (or millions in additional revenue generated),
the company says, because strategic management plans will produce the
right forest products, in the right place and at the right time that
they are required by mills. “This problem of allocation of resource is
something most forestry companies are faced with today. It is a supply
chain management issue, but the fact that they are dealing with natural
systems complicates the matter,” says Ugo Feunekes, Remsoft vice
president of research and the system’s lead developer. “The problem has
always been how to deal with it efficiently and since they haven’t been
able to do that, the allocation issue has been ignored. That no longer
has to be the case. This product is really quite a breakthrough in that
sense.” www.remsoft.com

Hydraulic fluid designed for wide
temperature protection
Petro-Canada has launched Hydrex* Extreme, a unique premium-quality,
high-
performance hydraulic fluid designed for wide temperature
protection for high and severe low temperatures in mobile equipment. It
provides outstanding low temperature flow, allowing start-ups as low as
–49 degrees C (-56 degrees F) and continues to protect equipment at
operating temperatures as high as 64 degrees C (147 degrees F). It has
also shown to have superior oxidation life. Comparisons using the RPVOT
ASTM D2272 oxidation test demonstrated that Hydrex* Extreme lasts longer
than leading competitive oils, says the company. Longer oil life extends
time between oil changes, thereby reducing downtime costs. It also
minimizes sludge build-up, contains no heavy metals, such as barium or
zinc, to help minimize environmental effects including wastewater
contamination. www.petro-canada.ca

LBX Selects vShepherd GPS products
for excavators
LBX Company, LLC, makers of Link-Belt earthmoving, forestry and material
handling equipment, has chosen ATS Asset Tracking Services Inc (a
Canadian company) to provide its vShepherd line of GPS products and
services for its line of excavators. vShepherd merges Internet, cellular
and global positioning system technologies to form a powerful system for
asset protection, fleet management and theft recovery. LBX plans to
implement vShepherd in select excavator models within its wholesale
financing program. This will save Link-Belt distributors both time and
money, as they will be able to accurately locate the position of
Link-Belt equipment at any time, plan and schedule maintenance, and get
hour meter readings of engine run-times. Distributors will also be able
to utilize the FleetReach feature of vShepherd to view a weekly report
showing the status of an entire Link-Belt fleet and highlight what
machines need immediate service, creating efficiencies in planned
maintenance. www.lbxco.com Reader
