Tigercat Releases D Series Feller
Buncher
The first of the new 720D series drive-to-tree feller bunchers features
Tigercat's unique cross-flow cooling system that first appeared on the
skidder line. The hydrostatically driven cooling fan system
allows the operator to purge the heat exchangers without exiting the cab,
resulting in less debris build-up. The positioning of the coolers improves
cooling capacity compared to standard arrangements because cool air is
blown directly over the coolers without obstruction, the company says.
Engine options include the 174-hp Cummins 6BTA5.9 and the 185-hp John
Deere 6068T. The single range transfer case remains, while a no-shift
transmission enables the operator to achieve higher wheel speed in
favourable conditions without losing tractive effort if the terrain
becomes difficult.Other features include high visibility windows, a tight
turning radius, stability and angled engine enclosure profile.
