Northern Alberta Forestry Show Welcome
On behalf of the Board of
Directors of the 8th Biennial Northern Alberta Forestry show, I would like
to extend a sincere greeting to all visitors and exhibitors. This year's
exhibition of the newest forestry technology is spread out over the
spacious setting at Evergreen Park, providing a perfect setting for our
Forestry Show. Featuring over 350 booths this year, there will be
something for everyone. This year's theme, Our Forest-Our Future, reflects
the industries' commitment to a sustainable and steady growth. Our show
supports our local and regional area with educational and financial
commitments to both college and school children, for they are our future.
I would also like to take this time to thank the dedicated volunteers and
sponsors who have worked to put together the finest show in Canada. I look
forward to meeting everyone at the show and the many other special events
planned over the three days this coming May. Successfully, Lyle Dalgleish,
President, 8th Biennial Northern Alberta Forestry Show Message from the Minister of
Resource Development
As the Member of Parliament for Peace River, I would like to offer my support for this year's Northern Alberta Forestry Show, Our Forests-Our Future. Our forestry industry is a very important contributor to our local, provincial and national economy. Canada has been a world leader in forest management. It is vital that our forests continue to be a sustainable resource for future generations. This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to learn more about the forestry industry, to appreciate the contribution that it makes to our area and to give us a glimpse of the direction the industry will be taking in the future. I hope that you enjoy the show! Charlie Penson,MP *********
On behalf of the constituents of
Grande Prairie Wapiti, I am pleased to welcome exhibitors and visitors to
the Northern Alberta Forestry Show. Truly "Our Forest" is
"Our Future" here in this Region. I am proud that many dynamic
forest companies and their suppliers and contractors have chosen to locate
in Grande Prairie Wapiti. We value the contribution you make and
appreciate the good "Corporate Citizens" that you have been and
continue to be. Enjoy the show. Gordon Graydon,MLA
I would like to say hello and
welcome to all my neighbours and friends in the Grande Prairie and Smoky
Region. The Northern Alberta Forestry Show is a great event and it is my
honour to support it this year as your government representative. For
those visiting our region for the 2001 show, I hope you enjoy your weekend
and return for the biennial event. The forestry industry has shaped many
of our lives as we have watched it progress from our fathers' hands to
ours, and one day we will prepare our children to take control in the
future. It is something we take pride in. Over the past 20 years, we have
seen a stronger development of regulation for our forests. Because we
respect our forests and want to protect our children's futures, we have
taken great care in developing how we promote the forest as an industry
and viable business. It is this care that will guarantee the success of
the forestry industry in the future. It is my pleasure to be a member of
such a great community. The clean air and the natural surroundings are
good for us all. There is something to be said for raising your children
in a place where they are privileged to know what the "outdoors"
means. It is our responsibility, though, to continue to build and protect
our forests. The enforcement of boundaries we have set through the mission
of sustainable development ensures that no one will abuse our privileges.
It is our promise to the land and our children that our forests will
continue to thrive in the future. Sincerely, Mel Knight, MLA Grande
Prairie Smoky
Office of the Mayor Welcome to exhibitors, participants
and visitors to Our Forest Our Future. The City of Grande Prairie
recognizes and appreciates the value of the forest industry to our City
and Region. As a renewable resource "Our Forests" can definitely
be "Our Future". Shows such as these give us the opportunity not
only to see what is new but also to say "Thank You" for all you
do and "All the Best" in the years to come. Sincerely, Mayor
John Boyle
The Council and citizens of the
County of Grande Prairie No.1 welcome all exhibitors and visitors to this

forestry industry to provide safe and viable communities. Congratulations
to the organizing committee and the many volunteers on the excellent job
you have done in putting together this extraordinary exhibition. We also
extend a thank you to the many exhibitors. Without you, the success of
this event would not be possible. Welcome to all who are visiting the
Peace Region to partake in this grand show. We are certain that you will
not be disappointed. Sincerely, Roy Borstad, Reeve, County of Grande
Prairie No.1
